First Friday in September!

Part Time Studios is very excited to announce a two-person show, featuring Philly artists, Brad Haubrich and Dewey Saunders.  The show is entitled The Skull, The Bottle, The Flower, The Mountain, and is based around four collaborative pieces that represent these things.

“Miraculously drawn together by the almighty powers of this universe, two Philadelphia-based artists have embarked on a collaborative journey. A timeless journey in which, like so many before it, the emphasis has been squarely rested upon the shoulders of an unpredictable process, as opposed to the fruits it may yield. Four objects have been chosen to set the stage for this adventure that will be coming to a brilliant end on Friday, September 2nd, at Part Time Studios!”
There will also be a t-shirt released as a collaboration between Brad Haubrich and some very good friends of his!

‘Nowhere But Here’ Jeffrey Stockbridge

This upcoming First Friday!!

Nowhere But Here presented by Jeffrey Stockbridge.

Opening Reception:  Friday, June 3, 2011, 6 – 10 pm

The most recent body of work by photographer Jeffrey Stockbridge chronicles the daily life of Kensington Avenue’s forlorn residents as they battle to survive an environment overcome by drugs and prostitution.  Nowhere But Here, currently in progress, stems from Stockbridge’s previous work documenting the disquieting interiors of abandoned houses in Philadelphia.  With a sentiment not unfamiliar, Stockbridge has taken up portraiture backed by his signature use of his 4×5 view camera and available light.  Intrigued by the nature of addiction, Stockbridge turns his camera on the prostitutes and drug addicts, who, in their quest to survive, exude strength out of a crippling weakness.  Caught in the grip of their addiction, these individuals endure unthinkable pain on a daily basis and do whatever it takes to stay alive except for getting clean.

Trenton Ave Arts Festival 2011

The 6th Annual Trenton Avenue Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 from 12 noon to 5 PM.

This year’s festival will again feature the incredible 5th Annual Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby. Last year, the festival attracted 5000+ attendees to 150+ booths. The Trenton Avenue Arts Festival (TAAF) celebrates our incredible mix of local artists, musicians, and eateries. It raises funds for wonderful neighborhood projects and revitalization and is held on Trenton Avenue (between E. Norris Street and Frankford Avenue at York Street), a wide-open cobblestone street that has been part of Kensington’s rich creative history for over a hundred years.

Part Time will have it’s doors open to public.  A Threaded Whisper presented by illustrator, Jeremy Hush, is still on display in our gallery.

Make sure to stop by!
